American democracy. Remember that? I'd almost forgotten myself. I thought it went extinct, that anymore it was just considered an export item to go along with all the bombs and bullets. Democracy was the vaporware part of the package, a transparent fiction to make all the armaments and weapons of mass destruction seem less icky.
I thought democracy had become vaporware here too. And it just about did. That was the plan. Whose plan? The Oligarchy's.
While most of us were being worn down by the carborundum illegitimi, Bernie Sanders was barreling through the halls of congress with his hair afire as if democracy hadn't gone anywhere. And it hadn't. Bernie had pockets full of the stuff. While Congressfolk preened and posed, prevaricated and obfuscated, pretending to care and acting as though they had the most important jobs in the land while selling out to lobbyists and fat cat donors, Bernie eschewed all of that pompous pretense and put his faith in the people and his nose to the grindstone as though he had an actual job and the integrity and good sense to do it.
So let there be no more bullshit about Bernie's lack of experience.
For Bernie Sanders, democracy is a verb. It's what he does.
They tried to dumb us down so they could steal our democracy. But we found the Internet. We educated and informed ourselves and each other. There's nothing dumb about us.
If I said fuck too many times, please forgive me, I suffer from IOS.
Right on, Annabel. And right on, Bernie. American Democracy is back in the saddle.
Give ‘em hell Bernie!
