The rec list should be put back at the top of the page above Community Spotlight, in my humble opinion. No offense to Community Spotlight or the small group of people who make those choices, but the essays that make it onto the rec list are voted there by all members of the community. It fails to honor democratic principles to tuck the community's top choices beneath other content. The rec list should go back to the top where it was when volunteer citizen bloggers were making this place into the powerhouse it has become.
